34 Ladies played in the 18 hole Stableford on Tuesday 27th August, this was also the Grannies Cup competition. Division 1 had two leading ladies with 35 points, Sophie Jacob taking first place on countback, with Vicky Eyre taking second place, in third place was Gail Witcomb with 34 points. Sophie had 6 pars and a birdie on the par 3 15th hole. In division 2 Sue White was outright winner with 39 points, having 2 pars and a birdie on the par 5 6th hole. Jackie Smart came in second with 38 points, Dee Miller third with 37 points. Jackie was the winner of the ‘Red Tee 18 hole’ Grannies Cup.

7 ladies played in the 9 hole Stableford, which was also the Green Tee Grannies Cup competition. Winner of the Green Tee Stableford, and also this Grannies Cup was Sandra Dewey with 22 points.

Thursday 29th August was the Ladies Freda Rhodes trophy competition, which is a 13 hole Stableford format. 8 ladies took part, first and second place both had a score of 23 points, Pam Dodds taking the honours on countback with Gail Witcomb in second. Pam had a very tidy round with 5 pars.

Saturday 31st August saw the club hold the September medal & the Annual medal. Mark Perkins won division 1 with a nett 67, going out in 37 coming back in 33 with 5 birdies and 10 pars beating Gordon Macfarlane by 2 shots. Tim Rhodes won division 2n with a nett 66, going out in 39 coming back in 41 with 2 birdies and 6 pars beating Anthony McGibbon by 1 shot. Chris Wragg won division 3 with a 68, going out in 46 coming back in 46 with 5 pars beating James Gardiner by 3 shots. There were 30 twos recorded.

Annual medal result:

Division 1 – Tom Hesketh – 72 gross – 76 nett

Division 2 – Roger Emmett – 80 gross – 72 nett

Division 3 – Chris Wragg – 92 gross – 68 nett

On Friday 30th August Alex Houghton recorded his second hole in one. On the 17th he managed his ace from 182 yards using his driver. Well done, Alex who is proudly pictured below.
