NOE U16’S 2024 - DAY TWO

Early rain and blustery wind did not augur well for day two of the North of England Under 16’s Strokeplay Championship at Pannal. But with calming winds and no further rain as the day wore on, better scoring was the order of the day.

After the end of 36 holes Cole Self (Ringway) and George Shakespeare (Royal Eastbourne) took command tied at 4 under par with rounds of 69 and 67 respectively. Also posting a 5 under par round was Joshua Chi, Harrogate GC Junior Captain, who finished 1 under with Leo Cahi (Cottesmore) in close attendance on level par.

In the girls section England International Emily Peaford (Walton Heath) put herself in pole position with a sub par 71 to go one ahead overall followed by Eve Myers (Chesterfield) on one over.

In the Under 14’s competition, Jaxson Perry (The Kendleshire) followed up his 72 on day one with a 76 to finish 4 over, 2 shots ahead of George Cooper (Doncaster). In the Girls Under 14’s Kim Lou Joachim (Switzerland) maintained her lead staying 2 shots ahead of Mariella Buchanan (Bristol and Clifton)
