NOE U16’S 2024 - DAY THREE

Overnight concerns about the impact of Storm Lilian were justified when Friday morning saw early heavy rain and very strong, gusty winds causing a delay in the start of play. The Competition Committee considered opting for an 18 hole final day when the wind died down briefly. But in the end the decision was taken to abandon the day’s play in the interests of player safety as the wind picked up again.

As a consequence the 36 hole standings determined the prizes

The main results were therefore:-

Boys Under 16’s, joint winners at 4 under par, total 140, George Shakespeare (Royal Eastbourne) and Cole Self (Ringway)

Girls Under 16’s winner Emily Peaford (Walton Heath) 76,71 total 145

Boys Under 14 winner Jaxson Perry (The Kendleshire), 4 over, total 148

Girls Under 14 winner Kim Lou Joachim (Switzerland), 76, 81, total 157
