Tuesday 18th March was the annual Lady Captain’s Team v Lady Secretary’s Team 4 Ball Better Ball Matchplay trophy competition. 44 ladies enjoyed the spring sunshine, and some very close matches were played, many going to the last hole and even the last putt! However, luck was on the side of the Lady Secretary’s Team, who won 7 ½ to 3 ½. Following a tasty afternoon tea and inspirational new season speech from the newly appointed Lady Captain, Vicky Eyre, the outgoing Ladies Captain, Lynn Sheldrake, presented the trophy to Lady Secretary, Debbie Bruce.

A 17-hole Dubai Stableford was held on Saturday 22nd of March, with two scores to count on holes 1-6, three scores to count on holes 7-12 and all four scores on the final 6 holes. The weather favoured the morning tee times, with torrential rain and thunder hampering the later tee off times!

The winners were as follows:

1. Derek Hufton, Brian Hamilton, Alan Morris & Roy Woodburn with 122 points

2. Oliver Mantle, Richard Burcher, David Greene & Michael Crack with 120 points

3. Graham Hindmarsh, Brian Hemingway, Nick Rusling & Mike Starkings with 118 points

The club held the Junior AGM on Wednesday 12th March with over 20 juniors and their parents in attendance, including Junior Captain for 2025, Sophie McCormack. The Junior Vice Captain for 2025 was confirmed as Harry Stalker at the AGM. Good luck to both for the next 12 months.
