On Sunday 9th June Richard Finney won the Open Stableford with 37 points, followed closely in second place by Jeff Worrall with 36 points.

On Monday 10th June, Mark Henderson won the Open Stableford with a whopping 35 points, one point ahead of Vince Chambers, Gary Beeston, Lawrie McWilliams & Steven Dodds. Mark’s form improved from the previous day by securing an extra two points! It has taken him a while to get back on the podium, his last win coming when he inadvertently entered a ladies competition a few years ago!

Tuesday 11th of June was the Ladies Invitation Day, thankfully it was dry, though it was a very chilly day. 13 teams of four took part in the AMAM competition (two scores to count, with all four to count on the 18th). The winning team, with a score of 91 points, was Katie Burke and Lydia Scott with their guests, Marie Scott and Joanne Clark. In second place, with 86 points, was Vice Captain Vicky Eyre and Pam Dodds, with their guests, Helen Pettit and Mandy Butterworth. There was also a ‘nearest the pin competition’ on the 10th hole, the Pannal winner for this was Pam Dodds, the guest winner was Cath Blakeman. There were 5 ladies who scored a 2. The halfway house served much appreciated hot drinks and home baked cakes to the ladies as they made their way round the course, following the golf there was a delicious meal and presentation of prizes in the club house.

Pannal Ladies entered two teams in the HDU Silver Championships at Ripon GC on 12th June. The players were Ruth Skaife-Clarke, Claire Hutchinson, Sandra Taylor, Sophie Jacob, Vicky Eyre, Ann Whiteley, Clare Davies and Gail Witcomb. Unfortunately, neither team managed to win the gross or net trophies.

On the day each player is also competing for the HDU Silver Championship individual best gross score. Ruth Skaife-Clarke won the best gross, with a score of 78. This is a fantastic achievement especially as Ruth has won it 3 times before in 1992, 1994 and 1996!

Saturday 15th June was supposed to see the Centenary Porringer held. Sadly, due to the heavy overnight rain the decision was taken to reschedule for a later date, dare I say it, in the Summer!
